Kevin deep-dives into the concept of ‘micro-credentialing’ and raises the fundamental question of whether such learning approaches can make students competent to perform their future jobs more effectively and in a shorter amount of time.

He also explores whether such learning delivery may miss out on peripheral benefits associated with a traditional degree, including soft skills to develop well-rounded professionals.

Advocating for a universality of research integrity principles, Daniel asserts the need to go beyond high-level commitments, and explores the idea of integrity ‘markers’ or indicators, toward a shared, global understanding of research best practice.

Finally, he speculates on what form this may take, in terms of an official ‘passport’ or credential to bolster a culture and community around research integrity.
